This tour is accessible to anyone with a medium cycling ability. You should be comfortable on the bike and cycling on a road. There will be around 40 to 60 km (25 to 35 miles) a day so you need to be in relatively good cycling shape. For a less strenuous experience try our Puglia Gay Bike Tour. There will be scheduled stops for visits and refreshments.

A welcome meeting will be held on the first day in the evening during the aperitif. On the second day, after breakfast, there will be a full briefing. You will be provided with an assistance number you can call us at any time during your stay.

Puglia is fast becoming the gay destination of South Italy and that is why we are sure that the Gay Cycling Tour is perfect for you! The area is rich in culture, food, awe inspiring landscapes, white sandy beaches and some gay nightlife for good measure!
This tour is set at medium level that will suit most avid cyclists. The initial terrain is slightly hilly and we cover around 40-60km a day. This gay cycling tour is not only about biking: see yourself kayaking in the protected wild park of Porto Selvaggio, test your cooking skills in a local farmstead learning regional traditional recipes and savor the tastes and flavors of the region’s stunning wines and aperitifs. This all gay cycling tour allows you also to meet with like-minded gay men and to enjoy some free time to do what you like the most. You will have the opportunity to discover must see cities in Puglia including: Polignano a Mare, Alberobello, Ostuni, Lecce, Otranto and Gallipoli, the main gay hotspot of Puglia.

Day 1
Welcome to Polignano
Make your way to the hotel in Polignano a Mare. Explore this picturesque town suspended over the rocks before meeting in the evening. The Gay Cycling Tour commences over an aperitif dinner in the Old Town. Here you get to meet your fellow bikers and tour guides and discuss the journey that lies ahead.

Day 2
Polignano to Alberobello
After a hearty breakfast the group meets to collect their bikes and make any final adjustments before we set off on the Gay Cycling Tour. We meander through the rolling countryside, ending up in the UNESCO world heritage site of Alberobello. Here we will have the opportunity to explore the Trulli, conical shaped buildings that give this area its particular charm.
Your luggage is transferred to the accommodation in Alberobello. Once here you have the rest of the day to wander through the history of this quirky town. Enjoy dinner on your own and grab a few drinks at the cute bars if you like!

Day 3
Alberobello to Ostuni + Lecce
Get fully fueled at breakfast so that you are recharged for day 2! We cycle to Ostuni, known as the white city. The terrain today will have the most steep and descending parts of the tour so make sure your cycle legs are strong! We will also visit a local Frantoio (olive mill) learning about Olive Oil and having a tasting experience surrounded by the ancient Roman olive groves. From Ostuni you get to see the amazing 180 degree views of the Adriatic Coast and the thousands of olive trees that dominate the landscape.
We will visit Ostuni in the afternoon and after a stroll and a drink we will be transferred to Lecce (Your luggage is transferred too).

Day 4
Lecce – Free Day
After breakfast we give our legs a bit of a rest. Lecce is known as the Florence of the South and when you are rendered speechless by the baroque architecture you will know why. The day is free for you to enjoy this beautiful city at your own pace. Shopping anyone?

Day 5
Lecce – Otranto
Today our very own Gay Cycling Tour heads to Otranto to discover the ‘East meets West’ architecture.
Our Gay Bike Tour will follow a route into the natural reserve of the Cesine and the fortified village of Acaya. This is a route set in the natural beauty of Puglia. We will take a long cycle path surrounded by olive trees basked in the Puglian sun. Finally, we hit the coast and a beautiful beach where we take a dip in the sea adjacent to the reserve.
We will spend the evening in Otranto, an amazing seaside town with a beautiful port.
Your luggage is transferred to the accommodation in Otranto.

Day 6
Otranto to Gallipoli
After breakfast it’s back on the bikes as we head to Gallipoli, an area with a few gay bars and beaches. We explore the Old Town and try out some of the local cuisine 😉
Your luggage is transferred to the accommodation in Gallipoli.
Make sure to join us in the evening for the farewell dinner, proper Italian Pizza and beer/wine as we celebrate our accomplishments from the week.

Day 7
Cycling in Porto Selvaggio + Nardo’
After breakfast we head slightly north to explore the crystal clear waters of Porto Selvaggio. Here we can swim in the protected nature reserve. Afterwards we take a short cycle to Nardo where we visit the amazing old center of this beautiful town.
Enjoy the rest of the day on the beach, in the hotel or exploring Gallipoli Old Town.
