This tour is accessible to anyone in relatively good health. There will be a day that involves some labour but this will not be overly strenuous.

Did you know that Puglia produces 90% of Italy’s olive oil? As a region, it is the 3rd biggest producer in the world. Join us on this amazing discovery of the Ancient Roman landscape learning hands on how to get the oil from tree to bottle.
Still not convinced? This Harvest Tour takes place in the Itrian Valley, an amazing location surrounded by acres and acres of Olive Groves and conical shaped houses known as Trulli. Click here to see the description of the area. Stay with your gay hosts Kendall and Sergio in Pride of Puglia House, a typical Lamia (small farmhouse) where you will really be living like a local! If you get tired, fret not! the local farm cats are always on hand to lend a paw.
This hands on tour will be guided by a local professional olive oil harvester and producer called Pasquale. He will lead us through the process of how these amazing trees are grown and then will guide us through collecting the olives ready for production. Once the olives are collected we are taken to the local pressing mills (frantoio) where we learn the secret ways of pressing the olives to produce the very best extra virgin olive oil. Each person in the tour will get 5 litres of their very own Extra Virgin Olive Oil to keep. Our Olive Oil Harvest Tour will also include a tour of the ancient olive groves dating back to the Roman time as well as a course on the different tastes and flavors one can derive from different methods.
But it isn’t all work! No, no, we would rather see you frolicking among the valley enjoying yourself and tasting the amazing culinary cuisine Puglia has to offer. This scintillating tour includes three typical dinners with wine included in nearby towns including Martina Franca, a beautiful baroque city. There is also a guided tour of Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Locorotondo, voted the top 10 most beautiful towns in Italy.
Each day you will also be served a hearty breakfast, light lunches and dinners all make with local seasonal produce.
